About Us
Brunt & Company Inc. is a licensed general building contractor serving South Florida from Fort Lauderdale. We started in 1994 and incorporated on July 23, 1997. We are a family owned business — the first generation’s sacrifice and commitment to excellence paved the way for the second generation’s innovative approach to managing operations.
Alongside commercial, residential and roofing work, we specialize in three areas where a licensed GC matters most: serving as the general contractor of record on insurance claims, clearing city and building-department code violations, and ground-up construction. For smaller residential jobs that do not need a GC, we will connect you with a vetted trade partner at no charge.

FOUNDERS
The Visionary
Samuel Brunt, Sr., brings decades of professional experience in South Florida as and business consultant on major construction projects, and as a licensed general building contractor on both commercial and residential projects. He has also worked many years in the Maryland/Washington, D.C. area working with a non-profit social enterprise as Operations Manager for its deconstruction operations in Baltimore City, and as construction Project Manager for an affordable housing developer in Washington, D.C. A proud graduate of Howard University, BA ’83, Samuel also has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore, MPA ’85 (Financial Administration).
Samuel has done work on some big projects in South Florida, including serving as the site developer and general building contractor for the 6.5 acre Community Bible Baptist Church Project in Miami, Florida. In addition, he worked as a consultant for local minority business enterprise (MBE) compliance and local hiring requirements on both the American Airlines Arena Project (home of the Miami Heat), and the Arsht Performing Arts Center Project in downtown Miami. Further, Mr. Brunt is a life-long student of self-improvement, and is always reading about, or listening to something informative, inspirational, or upbeat that will improve his people skills, personal productivity, and professional excellence.

The Operator
Sam Brunt has been Brunt & Company’s point person in the field since 2016, starting by running the roofing sector before stepping into his current role as Lead Project Manager — overseeing every active project and the company’s day-to-day administration. A graduate of Barry University, Sam brings the hands-on follow-through that turns a signed contract into a closed-out, inspected job: the discipline the second generation adds to the standard the first generation set.
